Cairo 2 Day Trip Private
Excursion to Cairo 2 days
We will pick you up from your hotel. You'll travel toward Cairo in a comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle.
Arrived in Cairo will be our first
sightseeing at Cairo day trip 2 days, the step pyramid of Sakkara.
The step pyramid of Sakkara of the ancient Egyptian king Djoser from the 3rd dynasty of the ancient
empire around 2650 BC is the oldest of the Egyptian pyramids. During his
19-year reign, Djoser had an unprecedented monumental tomb erected.
Step pyramid was built entirely of limestone. The burial chamber
was built at a depth of 28 meters and consists of precisely hewn rose granite blocks in four layers. Afterwards
we visit the Alabaster Sphinx and the colossal statue of Ramses II.
Alabaster Sphinx is located in the town of Memphis about 24 kilometers south of Cairo. Alabaster
Sphinx dates back to the time of Amenhotep II. And is 8 meters long.
The colossal statues of Ramses II. Is a limestone statue and still 10 meters high today.
Next we drive to a nice local restaurant for lunch. After
lunch we will drive to the famous pyramids of Giza.
Pyramids of Giza were built around 2620 to 2500 BC. The pyramid field of Giza has been
an important cemetery since the 1st dynasty.
Excursion to Cairo 2 days
After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel by your guide and we will drive
towards the Old City of Cairo. Here we visit the Citadel of Saladin, the Alabaster Mosque and
the el Khalili Bazaar
Citadel of Saladin & Alabaster Mosque Citadel of Saladin is one of the few preserved
fortified complexes of the city of Cairo, only since about 20 years the citadel has been open to the
public. The construction of the citadel began in 1176 in order to better defend the city of Cairo against attacks
by the Crusaders. From here you can enjoy a fantastic wide view of
Cairo and in clear weather the pyramids can be seen on the horizon. Due to an explosion in
the powder warehouse of the citadel, the palace was destroyed in 1824 and no longer built,
instead Muhammad Ali began the construction of a large mosque in the Turkish style. The
walls of the mosque are covered with alabaster, which led to the name "Alabaster Mosque".
Afterwards we drive on one of the oldest roads in Cairo to the Kahn el-Khalili Bazaar.
Khan el-Khalili Bazaar is a bazaar in the old town of Cairo, where there are numerous
coffee houses and shops as well as traditional craft shops. Before visiting the Egyptian
Museum in Cairo we will have a lunch break and enjoy a delicious lunch.
